iden: (| Our Zuccherini biscuits are crunchy both for the consistency of the dough and for the light layer of sugar on the surface. Nevertheless, these biscuits aren't very sweet, so they are perfect both to accompany a good Vinsanto (=dessertwine) (perhaps together with almond cantucci) and to eat for breakfast.)
These biscuits were typical of the poor cuisine of tuscany. Our recipe is original and traditional from Celle sul Rigo, were our farm is located. The are made without egg and are very light, easy to digest, but highly energetic. In fact, they were consumed often with Vinsanto to “relieve themselves” of the fatigue of the everyday work in the countryside or to recover after a period of particular physical decline.
